Summer Learning Journey

On Wednesday we had a special assembly about the summer learning journey. At assembly we had a few visitors speaking. The names of those who spoke were Bill, Rachel, Hazel and a few of our students as well. They were Ofa, Mia and Aj. The  summer learning journey is about children getting their reading skills better and kids still learning over the holidays. Some may say it could be boring but it could be really fun and it is good for kids to stay active and helps for when you come back school.

Tech 2017

last Friday we went  to tech the cooking made chocolate log and and the art group had finish their designs. We were at tech to 12:30 because there still three other group to go. The three groups were robotics, P.E and social studies and was in the P.E group. Our first game we played was infinity tag and if were tagged you would have to sit then the person who tagged you tags them then you would back in the game . Our second game was bench how we played was you would have two people start on the bench then your team mate and if your the last person and you throw ball to your team mate and they cacth it you win the game.

why your teeth should stay healthy

This week LS2 has learning about the importance of keep your teeth healthy and brushing twice a day.
Aj, Eric and I mad this DLO on why we should your teeth should stay healthy. The consequences to not brushing your teeth are your teeth will start to go rotten and will start to fall out. Our targeted audience is Room 5.

screencastify

Last week Jericho and I used Screencastify to record our learning. To use Screencastify we had to plan and write a script of what we were going to say. Then you open the app to record. Make sure you talk clearly. Once your Screencastify has been completed you can publish it to your blog. You need to make sure that anyone with the link can view and you need the embed code. 

Amazing Assembly

Today at assembly we had a special visitor come to our school. Albert Vete and Justin (Asics worker) they were here to present the shoes and the 2017 warriors t-shirt and a sample of a boot signed by Albert Vete. When I found I was selected and when I meet Albert I  felt exited and I got a autograph on my hat and I got I few photos with him.  He spoke to us about the importance of training and trying hard. It was good to meet him and I will make sure I always train hard and work hard, so one day maybe I will be playing in the NRL.

what is a coalition

This morning we were learning about what a coalition is and how it changes the government. Today I have learnt that a coalition is when a small political party joins forces with big political party's to give them more seats in parliament. I worked collaboratively with Lyic.

Elections 2017

Today Ofa , Freeman , Affonso and I did a pretension on Helen Clark and she was the 37th and she was representing party vote labour. When Clark was young  she went to school could Te Pahu Primary school and she born 1950 and became a New Zealand's prime minster and she was prime minster from 1999 to 2008.

Read an e book day

Today our class have been reading E books and E book day celebrates modern story telling. if you have smart phone, tablet or a computer you can connect to the world literature whether your sitting on your couch or if you're on a plane.your favourite books or something completely new and discover the joys of digital reading.

Food tech

Today we had our third rotation for tech. Our new group is food tech and we made milkshakes. Our teachers name is Mrs Heka and our first instruction she gave was a small and remove the cream from the Oreo and leave three a side and once we removed the cream from the  Oreo we put in the then bash them until they turned into small pieces. Our next instruction was to get one cup of ice cream and fill another bowl with two cups of milk then we would get blender then we add our ingredients into the blender then we mix it for 15 seconds.

Term 3 dance

On Tuesday we started dance with a dance teacher name Zoe and there is three groups and three groups are called I see red, foot lose, staying a live. I'm in I see red and haven't done much so far and we started with the easy moves.

A or An

Today we were learning when to use A and when to use an before a word. If a word begins with a vowel  (a-e-i-o-u) or a silent H we use an. We use a for all other words. the photos that shows the sentences that I did about what i have learnt about during my writing session.

Lunch time at PBS

Let me tell you something about lunchtime at PBS. Once the 12:30 bell hits everyone's  ears people are waiting with excitement. As soon as the teachers send us to lunch people are trying to rush out the the door. When people are eating their lunch and the second they see a small ball come out they try to react as fast as possible. Everyone starts rushing down the stairs and runs as fast as they can so they can get to the game first. The juniors just keep running with endless energy. Some of the other kids are shooting the hoops. They often look frustrated because it takes them forever to the ball in the hoop. Some juniors are like little mosquitoes because they keep coming back annoying the seniors by running through their games.

For writing we started writing about what lunch time is like at PBS. we wrote about what we do at lunch time most of us play handball and some have training for sports. First we had a four minute practise then when our four minutes are up give story to our partners and we will read each others then our partners will tell us what we need to change.

Maths

 For maths today I started a game that I had to order fractions. This is my results from the test some of the questions were hard because I didn't understand some of them but I manged work out all them and It took me a few tries to work them out.

cyber smart

Today we did cyber smart we had to do a DLO on five ways to deal with haters and trolls online. The five ways to deal with haters and troll are don' t respond, ignore them block or UN follow them, report it and take a screen shot.

Dance

For dance Zane and I did a DLO about what dance has been like for term 2.  We learnt that theirs different flows in dancing and the four flows are Angles, free bound, shapes.

Lohri

For this task I had to find out about different ways people celebrate winter solstice. I worked with Mataio to make a DLO of a celebration we found interesting. We choose India. Did you know that India lights fires signaling the end of the winter solstice?

Dance

Animation

 Mataio and I started animation we had to explain what the summer and winter solstice is and how the seasons work. A new thing that I learnt while making this was that the summer solstice is the longest day in the year and the winter solstice is the shortest day in a year.

Today in dance Zane and had a look at dance moves and we noticed that we needed to practice on some moves because they didn't work they that we wanted it. We also were filming each others groups so they can see what they want to work on and Zane and I said we needed more dance moves.

Today for dance we started looking for music to go with our dance. We have too find music that flows with dance and we also have to time it and we were looking dance moves and we were practising them.

Kilikiti

Today josh and I started a Samoan DLO on Kilikiti is Samoan Cricket and it is a really popular sport in Samoa. Kilikiti has 10 to 20 people in each teams and the pat is called pate and this sport is traditional and a lot of Samoan people play this sport.

Stretching sentances

Today  in maths Jericho and I stared a maths DLO and we had to explain how we worked out the to our question. To work out or answer to our question we had star with the brackets then the exponents

In writing we have been looking at the structure of a narrative. We thought about the job of each part and matched it up with the narrative example.

For dance Today we started learning about free flow and bound flow free flow comes from the bones and bound flow comes from the muscles. We stared practising our shapes and the shapes we learned about twisted, curved, straight shapes and angler shapes.  

World of Maths

On Tuesday we went to the World of Maths. Our groups first task was the pizza pie and it was hard started off hard then it got easier. The next task was a lot easier then the first one. Our third task was a little harder and we had count the flash of the and how fast it takes to go down the ramp and the task was steep descent.

Today for dance Mrs Anderson did her first dance lesson. In dace we did warm up routines. A warm is what we had create and we show the audience what we did then had to swap round. And I thought it was fun because I found all sorts of other routines.

maths

Today for maths I learnt how to use the split strategy for example you start from a number then you half it until you get to a decimal number. I think this strategy is good because it makes it easier to work out the answer.

CARE awards - teaching a skill

Today we were learning how to make instructions and putting them in order and we had use action verbs.

Camp Photo Story

My friend Christopher and I made a photo story about our experience at camp. We did activities like high ropes, adventure based learning and archery. On day four of camp, which was our last day, we went to the wave pools on the way back. There was a hydro slide there which was awesome!  

Animal survival

My favorite game at camp was animal survival. We were put into three groups and the three group were carnivores ,herbivores and omnivores. Each group would  start at different times the herbivores would go first then the carnivores would go last. I was in carnivores and some of my teammates were hiding so they can tag them with out them knowing I was seaking up behind their back . The herbivores and omnivores had to find cards that says food and water and carnivores had to tag as many people as we can and man could get any one. When I was tagging people I felt like I could tag anyone I also felt like I was a predator chasing my prey and I was running through the rocks ,trees and up the hills I was getting tired then I finally tag Te wai. When I was running up the hills and through the rocks I was getting tired and my legs felt really heavy it felt like I was carrying rocks on my legs. Te wai was the hardest one to tag and my heart was pounding and my hand were tired.

Today at tech we were designing our jewellery on card and we used the laser cuter to make the first letter of our name from wood and miss Fregson took photos of our designs.

Today at school me and Jericho worked on our 5 tips for camp. We could choose to put photos on, Drawing, Symbols and graphic.I decided to pick photos because it seemed like the easy one.
