formal and informal language

formal
I thought I’d write/ I am writing to complain about the state of the yard/condition of the playground. Over the last two weeks, I have noticed loads of rubbish/a great deal of litter.

informal
Dear James,
How are you?/I trust this letter finds you well. I’ve been dead busy/extremely busy since your last letter. We have to work really hard at school to get ready/in preparation for our PAT tests.

These examples show informal and formal language. For this activity we had read each text then we would change the colour of the answer that fits best each sentence of formal or informal. This activity teaches you how you use them and where you use them, so if you were to write an email to your boss or a colleague you would use formal language but if were to be your texting your friends you would normally use informal language.

spaghetti bridges

This week for inquiry we have been learning about bridges. For this activity we were given a bag of spaghetti and rubber bands and we would use these items to build a bridge. The meaning for this activity is study how bridges work and what different jobs they have. Our bridge carried the most weight, It actually only carried 5 bricks but eventually we got to the bridge to hold all 8 bricks and we really surprised on how muck weight it carried, it was a lot fun doing this activity and hopefully we get do some like this again

Duffy assembly

Image result for Michel Mulipola\
Today we had a really special Duffy assembly. We had Michel Mulipola come in and talk about how it is important to keep reading and what he does for a living. He talked about that how we wanted to be a illustrator. He makes comics for the WWE and he makes school journals, he also a professional wrestler know as liger and he also made story's based on samon heroes. He went to a video game competition in LA he made to the semi but he lost and came 12th, it was interesting when he was telling us about his job and who knew being illustrator could be really cool.

Wheel Words

This week for our group has been doing wheel word. When we do this activity some one in our group will time ten minutes then and during time we have to find as many words as we can. I manged to find 20 out of 21 words, as you do this activity gets harder. It's a fun way of learning new words and meanings.
